What Gifts Can Be Provided?
Referrals can be made by a Caseworker, Doctor from a Hospital, Hospice Care or Social Worker working directly with the family. Families are considered "in need" if they are financially deplete, those who are in still struggling to cover medical bills and family expenses.
We will assist with the funding of unmet needs for the whole family. These could include funds for counseling, recreational opportunities for the family, child, or siblings, family financial needs, assistance for parents to be with their child during medical treatments, airfare for grandparents to be with the family, opportunities to create lasting memories with the child, grocery cards, gas cards, fun-filled party packages to offer hospitalized children a break from medical treatment, or funeral assistance.
All medical information is considered confidential and cannot be discussed with outside parties unless consent is given by the parent/legal guardian.
Families must request that their hospital caseworker contact us to request assistance. The caseworker must recommend them, fill out appropriate paperwork and have medical authorization from their primary oncology physician.
